General FAQs

Oxaver is a managed web hosting service focused on two core offerings: Managed VPS Hosting and Managed WordPress Hosting. Every server and hosting environment is configured manually based on your specific requirements. Nothing is automated or templated. You tell us what you need and we build it.

Oxaver is built for businesses, agencies, freelancers, and developers who want professional-grade hosting without having to manage servers themselves. Whether you are running a single WordPress site, a busy WooCommerce store, or multiple client projects on a VPS, Oxaver handles the infrastructure so you can focus on your work.

No. Every client gets their own VPS environment. Your resources are not shared with other users. Shared VPS plans refer to the type of virtualisation used by the infrastructure provider, not shared resources between Oxaver clients.

Servers are available in the USA and Europe. European locations include Germany, Finland, and the Netherlands. The United Kingdom is also available on select plans. You choose your preferred location when you fill out the configuration form.

No free trial is offered at this time. However, every plan comes with a 99.9% uptime guarantee and managed WordPress plans include free migration, so you can move to Oxaver with confidence from day one.

Fill out the configuration form on the Get Started page. Tell us about your requirements and we will review your submission, send you a clear invoice, and begin your setup once confirmed.

Managed VPS Hosting FAQs

A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is a dedicated slice of a physical server with its own allocated CPU, RAM, and storage. Managed VPS hosting means we handle the setup, configuration, security, updates, and ongoing maintenance of that server on your behalf. You get the power of a VPS without the complexity of managing it yourself.

No. We research your requirements and determine the best server infrastructure for your specific workload and budget. We handle procurement, provisioning, and full configuration from start to finish. You do not need to sign up with any hosting provider yourself.

You can choose between OpenLiteSpeed and Nginx. OpenLiteSpeed is recommended for WordPress and high-traffic content sites. Nginx is better suited for custom applications and developer environments. If you are unsure, tell us about your project and we will recommend the right option.

There is no fixed cap on the number of websites. The practical limit depends on your server resources and the traffic and complexity of your sites. We monitor your server continuously and notify you when resources are approaching their limits so you can plan ahead before performance is affected.

Shared VPS uses virtualisation where the physical server’s CPU cores are shared across multiple virtual machines. Dedicated VPS gives your virtual machine exclusive access to physical CPU cores. Dedicated VPS plans offer more consistent performance, particularly for CPU-intensive workloads.

Backup is available as a paid add-on for VPS hosting, enabled per website. You choose which sites need protection and we configure it for exactly those. Two types of backup storage are available, each suited to different retention needs and cost expectations.

The built-in offsite backup uses an incremental format. Each snapshot captures only what changed since the previous one, keeping your storage footprint close to your actual site size. Retention goes up to 30 days. Pricing is $0.40/GB per month for a daily schedule or $0.50/GB per month for a 12-hour schedule, with a minimum charge of $3 per site per month.

For longer retention, backups can be configured to other external storage destination such as S3-compatible providers including iDrive, Backblaze, and Wasabi. Because each run creates a full copy of your site rather than an incremental snapshot, storage usage is significantly higher and should be factored into your cost planning. Retention can extend up to 6 months.

Yes. Multiple separate offsite backup destinations can be configured for any individual website. This is useful if you need extra redundancy or want backups stored in more than one geographic region.

For both built-in offsite and external storage backup, available frequencies are every 12 hours, daily, every 2 days, every 3 days, or weekly.

For built-in offsite backup, retention options are 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or 1 month. The maximum retention is 30 days. Multiple backup schedules with different frequencies can be configured per site, but total retention does not exceed 30 days.

For external storage backup, retention options are 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, or 6 months. Because these are full backups rather than incremental, each retained snapshot takes up the full size of your site, so longer retention periods result in significantly more storage usage.

Yes. Staging environments can be set up on your VPS for any website. This lets you test changes, updates, and new features in an isolated environment before pushing anything to your live site.

Your server is monitored continuously as part of your managed VPS service. If your server experiences a problem, we are alerted and respond as quickly as possible. You can also reach us directly through the Support page at any time and we will handle the issue promptly.

VPS migration is a paid add-on service. WordPress site migrations are priced based on the total site size including files and database.

  • Up to 5GB per site: $39 per site
  • Above 5GB: $39 plus $4.50 per additional GB

For example, a 7GB WordPress site would cost $39 plus $18 (4GB x $4.50) = $48.

Non-WordPress site migrations are handled on a case by case basis. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

Managed WordPress Hosting FAQs

It means your entire WordPress environment is set up, optimised, secured, monitored, and maintained by us on a continuing basis. You do not need to handle server administration, security hardening, or backup management. Everything underneath your WordPress site is taken care of.

No. Your WordPress site runs on its own dedicated server environment, not shared with other Oxaver clients. This gives you consistent, reliable performance without being affected by other websites.

Yes. Every plan supports WooCommerce. Scale and Elite plans are particularly suited for busier stores, with more resources, stronger backup protection, and higher transactional email allowances.
A staging environment is a separate, private copy of your website where you can safely test changes, plugin updates, theme edits, and new features before they go live. It protects your production site from accidental breakage during development or updates.

Transactional email is the service that sends automated messages from your website, such as contact form submissions, order confirmations, password resets, and account notifications. Every Managed WordPress Hosting plan includes a monthly transactional email allowance.

The service is configured manually for each website, including the required DNS records such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to ensure proper email deliverability. For WordPress sites, we configure the necessary plugin with all required settings so your emails work from day one. We can also provide the configuration details if you prefer to manage the plugin settings yourself.

Your monthly allowance covers system-generated messages sent from your website, such as contact form submissions, order confirmations, account registration emails, password resets, and shipping notifications. Bulk marketing emails and newsletters are not included and should be managed through a dedicated email marketing platform.
Your emails are not cut off when you reach your monthly limit. We notify you first. If it is a one-time spike we absorb it without charge. If you consistently exceed your limit, we discuss moving you to a higher plan or adding extra capacity at $3 per 2,500 emails per month.
Premium CDN (Content Delivery Network) distributes your website’s static content such as images, scripts, and stylesheets across a global network of servers. Visitors load your site from a server closest to their location, which reduces latency and improves load times regardless of where your visitors are in the world.
Extra CDN bandwidth beyond your plan limit is available at $0.06/GB and is billed at the end of the month based on actual overage usage.
Incremental backups capture everything that changed since the previous backup, keeping storage efficient. Database-only backups run more frequently to protect your most critical and rapidly changing data separately from the full site. Full site backups create a complete snapshot of your entire website for maximum recovery options. Higher plans layer all three types together for the most comprehensive protection.
SYes. You can request a restore at any time with no restore limits. Backups can also be downloaded directly if you need a local copy. Manual backups can be triggered at any time with no limit on how many you run.
A dedicated vCPU means the CPU resource allocated to your server is not shared with other virtual machines on the same physical host. This ensures consistent, predictable CPU performance at all times, which is particularly important for busy WooCommerce stores and high-traffic business-critical sites.
Yes. Free migration is included on every Managed WordPress Hosting plan, covering one website per plan. If you purchase two plans, two websites will be migrated at no extra cost. We handle the full migration process from your current host. No technical work is required from you.
Theme and plugin updates are part of your ongoing maintenance responsibility. We do not manage updates on your behalf as part of the hosting service. However, if you have questions or need guidance on how to handle updates safely, we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Premium DNS is an enterprise-grade DNS service included on all Managed WordPress Hosting plans. It provides fast and reliable domain resolution through a globally distributed DNS network. Each plan includes a generous monthly query allowance. If you exceed your plan limit, additional queries are available at $0.50 per million queries.

Yes. As part of your WordPress hosting setup, we migrate your existing DNS records to our Premium DNS service. This includes all your existing records such as A, CNAME, MX, and TXT records. We handle the full DNS migration and configuration so your domain continues to resolve correctly without any interruption.
Yes. Ongoing DNS management is included as part of your Managed WordPress Hosting plan. If you need new records added, existing records updated, or any DNS-related configuration changes, submit a request through the Support page and we will handle it for you.

Billing and Payments FAQs

Your monthly plan fee is billed in advance at the start of each billing cycle. Usage-based charges such as VPS backup storage, extra CDN bandwidth, and extra transactional email are calculated at the end of the month based on actual usage and added to a separate invoice. There is a 5-day grace period on all invoices.
No. There are no setup fees on any plan. Your first invoice covers your first month of service and we get started immediately upon confirmation.
No. All plans are monthly with no minimum contract. You can cancel at any time by contacting us through the Support page.
Usage-based add-ons such as VPS backup storage, extra CDN bandwidth, and extra transactional email are calculated at the end of each month based on actual usage and added to a separate invoice from your plan fee.
All invoices include a 5-day grace period. If payment is not received within that window, we will follow up directly before any action is taken on your service.
You can cancel at any time by contacting us. Your service continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not charge cancellation fees.
We aim to keep pricing stable. If a price change is necessary, you will be notified in advance with enough time to make an informed decision before the new rate applies.

For built-in offsite backup, pricing is $0.40/GB per month for a daily schedule or $0.50/GB per month for a 12-hour schedule, with a minimum charge of $3 per site per month. Because these backups are incremental, your storage footprint stays close to the actual size of your site content rather than multiplying across every backup run.

For external storage backup, pricing depends on the storage used in your external destination. Because each run is a full copy of your site, storage accumulates with each retained snapshot. Longer retention periods and more frequent schedules will result in significantly more storage usage compared to incremental backup.

Security FAQs

Every server is hardened from day one. This includes configuring a server-side firewall, Fail2Ban for intrusion detection and blocking, isolated application environments, free SSL/TLS on every domain, and regular security patches applied as part of your plan.
Yes. All VPS servers are hosted on infrastructure with built-in DDoS protection at the network level. Attacks are absorbed before they reach your server.
Yes. Each application runs in its own isolated environment on the server, keeping your sites separated from one another. A problem with one site cannot directly affect another.
Security hardening is configured at the server level as part of your managed WordPress hosting. For WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates, we provide guidance on request but hands-on update management is the responsibility of the site owner.

Migrations FAQs

Yes. Free migration is included on all Managed WordPress Hosting plans, one website per plan. If you purchase two plans, two websites will be migrated at no extra cost.
No. VPS migration is a paid add-on. WordPress site migrations are priced based on total site size including files and database. Up to 5GB per site is $39. Above 5GB is $39 plus $4.50 per additional GB.
We aim to respond to all support requests within one business day. Urgent issues affecting server or site availability are treated as high priority regardless of plan.
Migrations are handled carefully to minimise downtime. In most cases, your site remains live on the old host until the new environment is fully tested and ready. DNS cutover is typically the only brief period of potential interruption.
Yes. If you are moving multiple sites to a VPS, we can handle them as part of your initial setup. Let us know the number of sites and their approximate sizes when filling out the configuration form.
